Favourite things :-)

Hi Ladies,

Gosh its been a long time since my last post! I've been super busy lately with what feels like one thing after another, but I've finally got a little bit of time to catch my breath and I thought I'd do a little update post on some of my favourite bits and bobs at the moment :)

Chocolate! - I came home from a few days away to a lovely little pile of Easter eggs. I like the cadbury ones best, especially flake's as they are perfect for dipping in tea - yum yum!

Ipod's - My boyfriend bought me an ipod for my birthday (I've never had an ipod would you believe!). Last week I finally got round to buying a few songs for it, and I havn't put it down since. It is one of the new nano's (pink of course) and it fits perfectly into the front pocket on my handbag, I love it!

Cute Tupperware - I'm always enticed by the lovely bits and bobs in paperchase, and last year I bought a set of three of these ridiculously cute cake tupperwares. I have been using them lots lately for packed lunches to sit and eat in the sunshine, they always seem to evoke an ''awww'' from people when I bring them out of my handbag!

Royal Wedding - I'm really looking forward to watching the royal wedding on friday, I think kate Middleton is absolutely lovely and I can't wait to see her dress! I love Cath Kidston's royal wedding products and have my eye on this very cute mug - what better way to celebrate than with a lovely cup of tea :)

So you think you can dance - I love this programme, I find all the different dances really exciting to watch and I really admire the skill of all the dancers. I like the contemporary and lyrical hip hop routines best. Matt is my favourite so far!

Pampering! - Last night I treated myself to a face mask and a foot spa. I use the liquid talc sachets by Chantelle on my feet when they are in need of a little TLC and they are so lovely and refreshing. The face mask I used was Amie's spring clean cooling face mask which is my favourite face mask ever (and its £2 off in superdrug at the moment - bargain!

Hope you're having a lovely week,

Tara Smith feed the root shampoo and conditioner :-)

Hi Ladies,

As a hair buff I was very excited to be sent samples of celebrity hairdresser Tara Smith's haircare range for review purposes. I had heard about the range before, as all of Tara Smiths products are made with natural and organic ingredients and are free from parabens, sodium laureth sulphate and many other harsh chemicals. I have quite a sensitive scalp so i was interested to see if specifically using a SLS free shampoo might work for me :)
The packaging is really cute and sturdy, the tag line is ''Tested on film stars not on animals'' which I though was great! The first think I noticed was the fresh minty smell these products have - absolutely lovely.
I received the feed the root shampoo and conditioner, which is formulated with bamboo extract to stimulate and nourish dry hair and five yeast extracts to supplement the hair and scalp with essential minerals. I also noted that both the shampoo and conditioner contain menthol and tea tree which must account for its lovely scent!
So what do I think?
As these products do not contain SLS the shampoo does not lather up as much as standard shampoo's do, So it is very easy to try and compensate by using too much product which can leave your hair feeling greasy (something I did the first few times using this!). However, once I wised up to what I was doing, I became suitably impressed with these products. The shampoo quite literally leaves your scalp tingling - its lovely and refreshing. The conditioner was by far my favourite though, it is really light in consistency and this definitely translates to your hair. It left my hair feeling light, sleek and hydrated - and remarkably tangle free (my hair is usually a long, blonde tangley mess!).
After using these products my hair feels squeaky clean, and even my boyfriend complimented me on how nice my hair smelt (it must have been nice!).

You can buy Tara Smith hair products online at Cult Beauty :) Hope you're having a great weekend enjoying the sunshine!

Primark Nail Foils :-)

Hi Ladies,

Last month I was really excited when I found these nail foils in primark for the bargain price of £3.00! A few days ago I finally had some spare time on my hands and decided it was about time I tried them out. They were a little fiddly to apply, and I definitely didn't do the best job ever on them but for a first attempt I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out!

The foils only lasted a couple of days before they started to peel off and I decided to remove them, so they're not the type you can expect to last for a long time, but I think they're great for a bit of fun or nights out so I'll definitely be picking some more next time I'm in primark.

Hope you're having a lovely week,

Thomas Sabo Charm Bracelet :-)

Hi Ladies,

It was my birthday earlier this month, and I thought I would show you one of the lovely presents I recieved (as its barely been off my wrist since!). It is this black obsidian Thomas Sabo charm bracelet.

My boyfriends very lovely parents got me this (they know me very well!) and I love it. It looks lovely sat next to my links bracelet and the charm is just what I would have picked myself - simple and sparkly!

I love the concept of these charm bracelets, they are simple enough to go with everything with a little twist. I think they look lovely with just one charm on, although I already have my eye on a few others so I can swap them over to go with different outfits!

Hope you have a great week!

Denman Hairbrush Compact :-)

Hi Ladies,

After one of the straps on my handbag snapped whilst I was walking to the bus stop last week (yes - It was one of those I wish the ground would swallow me up moments!) I decided it was about time I had a handbag spring clean and got rid of half of the unnecessary things I carry around all day. Something I used to throw in my handbag every morning without fail was my huge paddle brush (why oh why!), so to ensure it never finds it way into my handbag again I promptly headed to boots to buy myself a mini replacement. I decided to get this super cute mini Denman brush which was £2.80

This hairbrush folds away to make it teenie tiny! It is really lightweight, and the fact that the bristles fold away make it really neat and tidy. The mirror inside is really for touch ups and the black and pink design is super cute! Its so small that its perfect for popping in your clutch bag for nights out too :)

My paddle brush hasn't left my dressing table since!

Hope you're having a great week!

Pretty Perfumes :-)

Hi Ladies,

With the lighter days and glimpses of sunshine signalling that Summer is slowly on its way, there are two fruity summer perfumes which I have been loving at the moment so I thought I would share them with you :-)

Nina, by Nina Ricci never leaves my collection, it is such a lovely pretty girly scent! I think I first got this when I was about 18 and its been on Birthday and Christmas lists ever since! I would describe this as fruity, floral and light. It is not particulary heavy or long lasting making it more suitable for wearing during the day, and how pretty is the bottle!

Sarah Jessica Parker, NYC I had lusted after this perfume since my trip to New York this summer and my boyfriend treated me to it for Christmas this year. This really reminds me of the fruity Escada scents Sunset heat and Pacific paradise which are sadly not available anymore (I used to adore these!). It is another fruity, floral scent perhaps a little sweeter than Nina but still absolutely lovely. The plastic packaging might not be to everyones tastes but I love it, and it makes it perfect for popping in your handbag! Smelling this literally makes me think of summer, what more could you want!

The glass perfume bottle in the middle of this picture was a present from a friend a few years ago. You can actually decant perfume into it, (I have never tried though!) and I have no idea where she got it from but it is one of my favourite things ever. This sits in pride of place on my dressing table with my array of perfumes around it - I love it!

Hope you have a fantastic weekend, what are your favourite summer scents?

My Little Trip To London :-)

Hi Ladies,

So, its my Birthday this coming weekend, yippee! and for the start of my birthday celebrations, I travelled down to London to stay with one of my bestest friends from Uni. We went to see Legally Blonde the musical which was fantastic! Susan Mcfadden (Bryan Mcfadden's sister and winner of Grease is the word!) was playing Elle and she was amazing. The whole musical was really funny which I wasn't expecting, I absolutely loved it! The next day we went shopping and I bought a gorgeous dress from topshop which I am going to wear on my actual birthday and lots of other bits and bobs. All in all it was a lovely weekend, so I thought I would share a few photo's with you :)

Enjoying the delicious Lola's cupcakes in Selfridges with a cup of tea - these were so yummy! I went for classic vanilla, and chocolate :)
Legally blonde - amazing! and finally, I purchased one little early birthday present for me - My very first YSL rouge volupte in number 01 Nude beige, I have lusted after this for ages, and when I finally got my mits on it, it was love at first sight. It applies like a dream, and is such a lovely colour - Happy Birthday me!
and thats everything! Have a lovely lovely week :)
