July Favourites! (a little late)

Hi Ladies,

Sorry this is a little late, I've been mega busy this week, and I never seem to get round to doing my monthy favourites even though they're one of my favourite posts to read! I have found quite a few new products I really like the past month or so, so here are my super July faves :)

It was actually started raining while I was taking these photo's (can you tell!) once I got inside it progressed into a full blown storm, I can't believe its the middle of summer! anyway onto the favourites!

I always have one of these little Carex hand gels in my handbag. The grapefruit and lime refreshing aroma gel is my favourite, people have actually asked me what perfume I'm wearing after I've used it!

The two nail polishes I have been reaching for the most this summer have been BarryM's Pink Flamingo which is quite possibly my all time favourite BarryM nail paint and Rimmels 10 day nail colour in Cafe Au Lait. Cafe au lait is a really great nude nail varnish, it is perfect for work and I find it lasts really well. I always like the way my nails look when I wear this colour.

Batiste dry shampoo in blonde is by far my top dry shampoo, it blends really well with my hair colour and I love the scent.

I've been really impressed with the Schwarzkopt got2b guardian angel heat protection spray which I bought earlier this month. Unlike some heat protectants it doesn't leave my hair feeling heavy or sticky. Its very light, smells lovely and leaves my hair feeling smooth and sleek. I love the packaging too!

The Me Me Me Blush Me blush in coral has definitely been my most reached for blush this July. Its a really pretty wearable coral with a fine shimmering finish which gives a lovely glow. This has satisfied my lust for Benefit's Coralista (for now!).

And finally MAC's Pink Plaid lipstick, has not left my handbag since I bought it. It is a matt finish which I don't normally go for, but for me it is a fab wearable pink with great staying power.

A Few New Things :-)

I havn't been shopping that much lately, as I've been trying to cut down on my spending! I have however picked up a few bits and bobs so I thought I would share them with you :-)

Lacura Beauty Hand and Nail Cream and Concealer Pen - At the beginning of the year, I was visiting a friend when she told me about this amazing new concealer pen she had been using, and within half an hour she had whisked me off to Aldi so I could pick one up! I am really impressed with it, at only £3.59 it was a complete bargain, and it is one of the best concealers I have used for helping disguise under eye circles, and brightening up tired eyes. The packaging is really sleek and sturdy too - All in all a lovely product! My boyfriends Gran gave me the Lacura hand and nail cream as a gift and it hasn't left my handbag since, it leaves my mits feeling happy and hydrated :)

Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle - After hearing great things about this product from friends and bloggers alike I finally purchased the infamous backcomb in a bottle. I have only used this a couple of times, and I have to say currently I'm a little underwhelmed. The first time I used this It left my hair feeling quite sticky and not really with any more volume than I can achieve with my trusty Insette hair mousse! However I have not given up on this product (and it smells lovely!) so any tips on how to use it would be greatly appreciated!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara - I repurchased this mascara, this time in the colour extreme black as although I'm not sure it accelerates the growth of my lashes, I really like the formula and the effect it gives. This mascara is not clumpy at all and gives my lashes natural looking length and definition. I think it works best once you've had it a few weeks and its dried out a little, so if you've bought it and not been too impressed definitely stick with it :)

And finally I picked up these super cute little denim hair bows from H&M they're perfect for clipping your fringe to the side or jazzing up a half up half down do at the back :)

A little Haul :)

Hi Ladies!

I just thought I'd share with you a few things I have picked up over the last couple of weeks. With Christmas coming up I have tightened those purse strings so this will probably be the last haul for a while, I've actually started writing down everything I spend daily in a bid to save some pennies!


So - Onto the products!

1. MAC Fix + - I've actually never used fix + before, so after hearing so much about it (refreshed long lasting makeup yes please!) I thought it was about time I gave it a try. I've only used this once so far as a finishing mist and am yet to try using it as a mixing medium so look out for an update on what I think to it :)

2. MAC Creme Cup lipstick - I was looking for a new lipstick for day to day wear and creme cup definitely fits the bill. Its is lovely wearable pink, and has that fabulous glossy cremesheen finish - I just hope it doesn't start to melt too soon!

3. Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara - I picked this up on offer in superdrug last week and have been using it daily since. I actually really like it as a mascara, its got a medium sized tapered brush, and applies really well but I'm yet to see any lash accelerating effects! Although I do like this mascara, it hasn't wow-ed me so I'm not sure yet whether I'd repurchase.

4. Bobbi Brown foundation Stick Compact - This is the compact version of the Bobbi brown foundation stick which I picked up at a CCO. It can be used as both a foundation and a concealer, but I have only used it as a concealer (I prefer liquid foundations). On first impressions it has a creamy, buildable consistancy and the colour I went for (porcelain) is a really great match for my skintone :)

Lipstick Rave : Rimmel Volume Booster in 102 - Foxy

Hi Ladies!

So I just wanted to rave about a gorgeous natural peachy pink lippie which I have been wearing non stop lately, and it is the rimmel volume booster lipstick in number 102 foxy.

This autumn, I really want to start using warmer colours on my lips (instead of my standard nude lip!), as my complexion becomes very pale as we head into these colder seasons! This lipstick gives me exactly what I want. It is a lovely wearable peachy pink, and whilst it gives me colour, it is not at all overpowering and looks incredibly natural.

I find this lipstick to be not at all drying, and it glides on easily. It gives a slightly glossy finish and has a lovely cool feel - I love it! It also plumps up your lips - what more could you want!

The volume booster lipsticks are a little harder to find and are often only on the bigger rimmel stands (I got mine from a large boots) but it is definately one worth seeking out! I think it costs just under £5.
