My Little Trip To London :-)

Hi Ladies,

So, its my Birthday this coming weekend, yippee! and for the start of my birthday celebrations, I travelled down to London to stay with one of my bestest friends from Uni. We went to see Legally Blonde the musical which was fantastic! Susan Mcfadden (Bryan Mcfadden's sister and winner of Grease is the word!) was playing Elle and she was amazing. The whole musical was really funny which I wasn't expecting, I absolutely loved it! The next day we went shopping and I bought a gorgeous dress from topshop which I am going to wear on my actual birthday and lots of other bits and bobs. All in all it was a lovely weekend, so I thought I would share a few photo's with you :)

Enjoying the delicious Lola's cupcakes in Selfridges with a cup of tea - these were so yummy! I went for classic vanilla, and chocolate :)
Legally blonde - amazing! and finally, I purchased one little early birthday present for me - My very first YSL rouge volupte in number 01 Nude beige, I have lusted after this for ages, and when I finally got my mits on it, it was love at first sight. It applies like a dream, and is such a lovely colour - Happy Birthday me!

Yankee Candles :-)

Hi Ladies,

I have always loved yankee candles, I think they smell divine and seem to last for ages! I remember when my friend first got me one as a present (clean cotton - still my favourite scent!) and it was love at first sight :) So, last month I decided to spend the last of my Christmas pennies (thankyou Dad!) on some new candles and a lovely little shade and tray to sit them on.

I got all of these (except the very old candle in the middle!) from Yankee Doodle. They have a huge selection of candles and accessories and I actually got both of the candles in their fragrance of the month promotion where each month they have three different scents at a discount. I always go for the small jar candles and in the promotion these were both around £5.00 - Bargain! As I mentioned before clean cotton is by far my favourite scent, It smells just like freshly laundered clothes, absolutely lovely! the 2nd candle I went for was garden sweet pea which is lovely too - its subtle, sweet and reminds me of spring :)

I have had my eye on the shades and trays for ages, and after browsing through all the different styles I finally settled on these ones. I love the blue glass mosaic, and it complements the decor in my room perfectly :)

February Ins and Outs :-)

Hi Ladies,

I thought I would try and do an ins and outs post once a month, so as we are getting towards the end of Feb (yikes!) I thought I would get the ball rolling :)

In

My Birthday - Its my birthday next month - yippeee! I have no idea what I would like so I'm hoping for a few suprises, I'm looking forward to having a nice meal with family and friends and lots of yummy birthday cake!

Baking - I have really got the baking bug lately, I've baked something different every weekend for the past five weeks, the best (as voted by family and friends!) have been cupcakes and mars bar crispie (amazing!). I use this recipe for my mars bar crispie and it is delicious, I am absolutely in love with this website at the moment - It has loads of fabulous sweet and savory recipe's which are super yummy and easy to follow :)

Sheer Blonde healthy attitude spray - I am really happy with the condition of my hair at the moment, and one of the product which I think I need to thank is this leave in nourishing spray. I have had this for yonks and have used it intermittently, but after having a look at the ridiculous amount of hair products I have, I decided it was time to start properly using them up and this one was first in the pile. I spray it liberally all over my hair after washing and then blow dry it. It leaves my hair feeling soft and silky and the ends seem not to dry out as quickly as they used to.

Primark - I went to primark the other day and picked up some great bits and bobs without spending too many pennies, watch out for a post on them soon :)

Holidays - My summer holiday is booked and I can't wait! I'm already looking out for nice holiday clothes :) we're going in August this year so I've got a little longer to wait, but hopefully it will be worth it.

So much to do so little time! - This is a how I feel at the moment, There just doesn't seem to be enough minutes in the day for me to get everything I need to do done! I'm going to concentrate on trying to get as much done as possible this week then reward myself with a super lazy weekend (fingers crossed!).

A Few New Things :-)

Hi Ladies,

I havn't been shopping that much lately, as I've been trying to cut down on my spending! I have however picked up a few bits and bobs so I thought I would share them with you :-)

Lacura Beauty Hand and Nail Cream and Concealer Pen - At the beginning of the year, I was visiting a friend when she told me about this amazing new concealer pen she had been using, and within half an hour she had whisked me off to Aldi so I could pick one up! I am really impressed with it, at only £3.59 it was a complete bargain, and it is one of the best concealers I have used for helping disguise under eye circles, and brightening up tired eyes. The packaging is really sleek and sturdy too - All in all a lovely product! My boyfriends Gran gave me the Lacura hand and nail cream as a gift and it hasn't left my handbag since, it leaves my mits feeling happy and hydrated :)

Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle - After hearing great things about this product from friends and bloggers alike I finally purchased the infamous backcomb in a bottle. I have only used this a couple of times, and I have to say currently I'm a little underwhelmed. The first time I used this It left my hair feeling quite sticky and not really with any more volume than I can achieve with my trusty Insette hair mousse! However I have not given up on this product (and it smells lovely!) so any tips on how to use it would be greatly appreciated!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara - I repurchased this mascara, this time in the colour extreme black as although I'm not sure it accelerates the growth of my lashes, I really like the formula and the effect it gives. This mascara is not clumpy at all and gives my lashes natural looking length and definition. I think it works best once you've had it a few weeks and its dried out a little, so if you've bought it and not been too impressed definitely stick with it :)

And finally I picked up these super cute little denim hair bows from H&M they're perfect for clipping your fringe to the side or jazzing up a half up half down do at the back :)

REVIEW: Batiste Tones for light and blonde hair :)

As you will probably know if you have been following my blog for a while I am a big fan of dry shampoo, so I jumped at the chance to review Batiste's latest offering for you - Their dry shampoo with a hint of colour for light and blonde hair! I can remember Batiste bringing out coloured shampoo for brunettes quite some time ago, and although as a blonde I don't have too much of a problem with the ''silver fox'' look dry shampoo can sometimes give you if you don't rub it in properly I have fallen victim to the rushed spraying of dry shampoo + flash photography scenario - Not a good look! So I was very excited to hear about this product coming onto the market!

This dry shampoo has a lovely light, sweet scent, Similar to Fresh and Diva if you are familiar with Batiste's other dry shampoo's. Its very girly, definitely one of my favourites!

Although this does still require some rubbing in after applying I find it to be less chalky and not as noticable at my roots. Like other dry shampoo's it leaves my hair feeling instantly refreshed and squeaky clean.

The colour in this dry shampoo is just as it is described - A hint, and I am not sure how effective it would be at helping disguise root regrowth (luckily for me I've just had my hair coloured!) but I have noticed that it does subtly lift the colour of my hair at the roots and blends in nicely with my hair colour. For me this has the edge over my trusty Batiste Diva and I will definitely be repurchasing :-)

Whats In My Makeup Bag..? Handbag Edition!

As I have never actually done a whats in my makeup bag post (I know - crazy!) I thought it was about time I jumped on the bandwagon! As my make up collection is in complete disarray at the moment with moving house, I decided to show you what I carry around in the little makeup bag which I keep in my handbag.

This was a Christmas present which came with some smellies in, I believe it is from boots - how cute are the cupcakes! I literally emptied out the contents and photographed them for you so there were a couple of things which had somehow creeped inside (hello essie nail varnish!).

So - Whats inside?

MAC eyeshadow in tissueweight - This is a lovely peachy pink, perfect for day to day wear.

MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer NW15 - This concealer has great coverage and lasts forever.

MAC Viva Glam GAGA lipstick - Everyone needs a fabulous pink lippie!

Essie Exposure Nail Varnish - My current favourite nail polish, no idea why it was in here though!

Loreal Voluminous Mascara - I picked this up recently, it used to be my holy grail mascara and I still think its fab, but its a little clumpier than I remember!

MAC Teddy Eyeliner - dark brown eyeliner with a touch of gold

Stila kajal Eyeliner in topaz - a nude/peach eyeliner, perfect for the inner corner and lower lash line to brighten up tired eyes!

Loreal Super Liner in carbon gloss - Liquid eyeliner with great staying power

MAC Brushes - 217 great for blending, mini 187 I use my full size 187 for applying liquid foundation but I use this one for applying my MSF natural for touch ups during the day, mini 168 lovely fluffy blush brush.

And finally I keep these in the front pocket of my handbag so I couldn't leave them out! :) MAC msf natural, and Stereo Rose - Which I have already hit pan on! If anyone knows a good dupe, please let me know!

Product Rediscovery, and a little update! :-)

Hi Ladies,

Gosh its been a while! But I'm back with a product rediscovery and a little update for you all! :) Over Christmas I've been moving house, and during the move I sorted through my makeup and decided what I wanted to keep and what was definitely past its sell by date! One product which hopped straight out of my dusty makeup drawer and into my handbag was this Stila convertible colour in Petunia.

This was actually the first Stila product I ever purchased about four years ago (not the exact one I'm showing you -I promise I'm not still using makeup that old!). If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I'm a big fan of Stila products, although they're not widely available in the UK any more I have seen occasional things pop up in stores like Tk Maxx so definitely look out for them!

The Convertible colours are cream blushes which can also be used as a lips tints. Petunia is a really pretty pink which I find adds just the right pinch of colour to my cheeks in these wintery months! Its really well pigmented so a little goes a long way, and its a great product for the handbag as not only is it a two in one product but it has a little mirror inside too! :)

In other news, I had a lovely Christmas and New Year and I hope you all did too :) I did get a few beauty produts as Christmas presents which I have been enjoying so I'll hopefully do a post on them soon. I've really been enjoying watching dvd's at the moment and have been picking up a few cheap ones over the sales, two of my best buys have been Britannia High episodes 1-4 for £1.99 - bargain! Did anyone else watch this while it was on? So cheesey but my and my friend absolutely loved it! and The devil wears prada for £3.00 what a fab film. If you have any recommendations let me know!
